Speech
An articulation disorder is the inability to properly produce certain sounds-in-words by their developmental age.
A child with a phonological disorder may drop, swap, distort, or add sounds-in-words. Examples of sound distortions are “baf” instead of “bath” and/or “tootie” instead of “cookie”.
Articulation and/or Phonology
A fluency disorder affects the flow, speed, and rhythm of speech.
Stuttering and cluttering are considered fluency disorders.
A person who stutters has trouble with repetition of sounds, syllables, words, phrases, sound prolongations, and blocks. Which may also be accompanied by physical tension, speaking avoidance, and secondary mannerisms (e.g., eye blinking, head nodding or other movements of the extremities).
A person with cluttering often speaks very fast and merges words together.
Fluency
Oral-Motor Exercises (may be used as a component of feeding therapy or articulation therapy)
Carefully selected techniques and exercises are implemented to develop awareness, strength, coordination and mobility of the oral musculature in order to facilitate improved clarity of speech and/or successful feeding skills.
Language
A person with receptive language disorder has trouble understanding spoken language, processing what others say, and/or interpreting written words.
This can cause one to seem uninterested when someone is speaking, have trouble following directions, or have a limited vocabulary.
Receptive Language Disorder
Expressive language disorder is a problem with communication. (i.e., making their wants and needs known verbally).
It makes it hard for people to share their thoughts or ideas, or show they understand what others are saying.
This may include: grammatical errors, limited vocabulary, formulating sentences, difficulties answering questions, word finding difficulties, and retelling stories, resulting in social challenges.
Expressive Language Disorder
Pragmatic skills are how we navigate through life, communicate our wants and needs to others, and express our thoughts and opinions verbally/non-verbally.
They include important building blocks of communication such as: eye contact, joint attention, turn taking, and sharing. If a child has a tough time making eye contact, maintaining their attention while a speaker is talking, or taking turns during a conversation/play, they may have breakdowns in communication throughout their lives that can persist in school and to the workplace.
They may also have trouble developing social skills needed to make friends and have healthy relationships.

Customized Intervention
Includes one-on-one therapy in the home whereby the therapist will conduct a comprehensive screening/evaluation as well as provide recommendations and a treatment plan.
Treatment sessions include hands-on activities, interactive games, and parent coaching.
Home Health
Parent coaching involves customized, one-on-one sessions in your home or by video call with a therapist.
These sessions provide you with the strategies and tools you need to enhance your child’s communication skills in their natural environment.
Parents/caregivers will receive creative ways to increase your child’s speech and language development, through communication temptation activities as part of your family’s daily routines.
In order to enhance floor time with your child, the therapist will coach the parent on how to manipulate toys to support intentional interactions with your child.
Parent Coaching
Through a secured platform, experienced therapists will work with clients on a two-way live video session.
The clients can interact with the therapist just as they would if it were in person.
The opportunities are vast: hands-on activities, interactive games, comprehensive evaluations and unique treatment plans are all incorporated.
For younger children, a caregiver will be on the other end providing cueing and any "hands-on" techniques that might be needed.
These sessions are an incredible way for caregivers to learn first hand the tools they need to interact with their child on a daily basis for optimum carryover results.
Teletherapy
Our 6 to 12-week intensive program is focused on children with mild language or speech delays.
This program entails an initial evaluation, following 12-sessions in the child’s natural environment, at our center, and/or via teletherapy.
This includes: concierge services (e.g., ongoing communication with assigned therapist, access to resources/referrals, and expedited enrollment to allied services.)
12-Week Stimulation Program
The most effective treatments are not always medications, but personal interaction with people and horses. Repetitive movement on the horse in a rhythmic pattern of motion creates responses in children that help activate nerves and synapses.
Hippotherapy enhances traditional therapy by allowing children to experience a special connection - sensory and physical - with their horse and the nature that surrounds them as they work toward their goals.
The Talking Tree, Co. partnered with Whispering Manes Therapeutic Riding Center to treat children with a variety of diagnoses. These include Cerebral Palsy, Down Syndrome, ASD, Traumatic Brain Injuries, Spinal Cord Injury, sensory processing disorders, genetic disorders, and more.
